An Outside Contractor sales position in millwork involves developing relationships with contractors, builders and at times homeowners to increase sales. This role typically involves quoting projects, preparing sales orders, and following up on potential sales leads. Understanding the construction sales process at Central Woodwork. Including profitable sales of windows, exterior doors, interior doors, stair parts, moulding and related products for the company.
Central Woodwork, Nashville actively sells a range of building materials to contractors within a designated parameter of Middle Tennessee. Outside Contractors must have the ability to recommend suitable products and options to meet the requirement specs to the builder. A contractor salesperson often communicates face-to-face on-site visits to the Central Woodwork showroom, phone calls, emails, etc. while achieving sales targets and supporting customer satisfaction; the outside contractor salesperson acts as a dedicated sales representative of the available building materials Central Woodwork offers.
Responsibilities- Drive sales through the growth of existing clients.
- Generate new business opportunities.
- Develop new relationships within the residential construction communities.
- Perform all aspects of selling/closing a project.
- Complete documents on time, such as construction bids, take-offs, change orders.
- Achieve/exceed recent sales call targets per month within a specified territory.
- Generate new sales opportunities by networking, referrals, permits, checking out upcoming subdivisions and researching the builders in the area.
- Represent the organization and engage in other marketing activities.
- Inspect, scope, and estimate projects.
- Maintain acceptable profit margins.
- Follow up on all estimates with builders.
- Maintain sales quota for each quarter and year as provided.
- Initiative-taking and self-driven - able to create opportunities and maximize productivity during slow periods.

Experience- Outside Contractor Salesman must have some experience in the sales and construction industry. At least one year's experience in the outside contractor sales environment is needed. The more experience acquired can help this person take on more responsibilities.
Education- Bachelor's degree in construction management or business can help this candidate grow their career but it is not required. As far as training goes, on-the-job training is the best way to incorporate this role into a successful salesperson.

Compensation packageSchedule- Monday - Friday 7:30am-4:00pm
- Hybrid position (desk within the contractor sales department with tools needed to be successful, laptop, etc.)
- On the road - Middle Tennessee Area - focusing on existing customers as well as new target accounts.
