Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Responsible/Controls Engineer - Environmental Control Systems with experience in Environmental Control subsystems development to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL. This position is fully onsite with no remote work available.

Key responsibilities may include:

Writing test reports
Developing integrated ECS test procedures
Developing software (python, matlab, simulink)
Supporting internal and supplier controls development
Developing and integrating complex digital and mechanical systems
Developing integrated controls software and electromechanical functions
Testing integrated controls functions in a hardware in the loop simulation environment
Documenting defects and recommending solutions or workarounds where applicable
Performing aircraft ground and flight test support functions (flight line and control room)
System level test planning, execution support, verification, data processing, and troubleshooting
Attending internal program, customer, and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates

Basic Qualifications:

Responsible/Controls Engineer - Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 2 years of engineering experience, OR a Master's degree in STEM
Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Must have professional experience related to the development and integration of Environmental Control subsystems or components

Preferred Qualifications:

Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with focus on thermodynamic, fluid mechanic and/or heat transfer disciplines
Graduate level coursework in aerospace controls (any or all of linear control, adaptive control, guidance, navigation, and control, estimation, flight dynamics, machine learning)
Experience with aircraft subsystem development, with requirements definition, specification development, component analysis, procurement, source selection, integration and test and verification for advance aircraft.
Experience performing thermodynamic, fluid mechanic and/or heat transfer analysis related to military/commercial aircraft and subsystems
Experience modeling fluid systems utilizing Amesim, MATLAB/Simulink, Thermal Desktop, Flomaster, and/or STAR-CCM+ software
Experience with the military airworthiness certification process using MIL-HDBK-516
Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures
Experience in supporting pursuits and proposals, including generating, reviewing, and approving technical proposals and BOEs
Demonstrated experience in leadership related to integrated product teams, including supplier and customer (internal and external) relations
Experience with integrated functional verification and validation with hardware and software in the loop

Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $115,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
