Position SummaryThe Town of Breckenridge Recreation Department is seeking a dedicated and highly responsible individual for the position of
Gardener - Summer Seasonal. This position is responsible for maintaining the gardens on the Breckenridge Golf Club property so that they are aesthetically pleasing and befitting a high-end facility. The Gardener uses various tools and vehicles to accomplish this task. The Gardener is responsible for proper equipment operation, cleaning equipment, and reporting equipment issues.
Individuals in this position also provide leadership to Greens Keepers who are assigned to help with gardening. The Gardener perform duties such as: planning gardens, purchasing plant material, soil/bed preparation, planting, watering, weeding, pest control, fertilizing, dead heading annual flowers, pruning, etc. The Gardener is responsible for working within a team environment and communicating in a positive and professional manner with guests, co-workers, and golf course operations personnel and attending required work shifts, including necessary trainings.

Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Gardening experience at high elevation required.
- Must be able to work a reliable schedule through the established seasonal timeframe, generally May through October.
- To qualify for this position, the candidate or employee must pass a criminal background check.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
- A valid Colorado Drivers License and a Motor Vehicle Record deemed appropriate are required prior to driving Town vehicles.
- Community CPR, First Aid, and AED training required within 60 days of hire.
- Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT) required within 60 days of hire.
- Master Gardener Certification preferred.
Additional Information Hiring Pay Range: $20.50 - $21.75 per hour. WORK SCHEDULE:
Primary shifts for this position vary. However, five (5) days per week for up to 40 hours would be typical for this position. Individuals in this position must be flexible in terms of availability, and may on occasion be required to work other shifts as needed, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
