The Georgia Environmental Protection Division is seeking an Environmental Engineer for it's Mountain District Office in Cartersville, Georgia.The successful candidate will conduct detailed review of proposed drinking water system construction plans and specifications for compliance with all applicable requirements. The incumbent will: interact with city and/or county engineers and consultants to revise plans and specifications as needed; review and evaluate proposed well construction sites, well construction documentation, and well water quality test results for compliance with all applicable standards; review drinking water permit application packages; and update databases as appropriate. The successful candidate will also provide technical assistance to other staff members and general public, as needed. The ability to clearly articulate technical concepts is essential. The majority of work performed by this position requires the production of written technical documents; therefore, good technical writing skills are essential for this position.

- Experience with environmental regulation and related compliance and enforcement activities

ETP021 - Environmental Engineer 2Entry Salary $64,064
Bachelor's degree in agricultural, chemical, civil, environmental, civil-sanitary or mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience in professional environmental protection or sanitary engineering work.
ETP022 - Environmental Engineer 3Entry Salary $70,470
Bachelor's degree in agricultural, chemical, civil, environmental, civil-sanitary or mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience in professional environmental or sanitary engineering work OR One year of experience at a level equivalent to an Environmental Engineer 2 (ETP021) or position equivalent.
