Costco's Global Sustainability and Compliance team is responsible for ensuring that we are doing the right thing for our members, our employees, our suppliers, our shareholders, our communities, and the environment while being mindful of our impact on our people and the world.
The Product Manager will be responsible for collaborating to refine, implement, and continue to evolve the business strategy, roadmap, and processes for Costco's Global Sustainability & Compliance products, while supporting the efforts to standardize and continually improve related practices. This position oversees the processes, practices, and execution of developing key digital products that will enable Costco to comply with legal requirements related to reporting, traceability, and due diligence, as well as, products that will help Costco measure its success and progress against compliance and sustainability initiatives/goals. This individual will also be responsible for partnering with IT and business teams to ensure requirements and priorities are kept current following every release.
The Product Manager is responsible for setting a product vision and strategy, drawing out the most value from a product and guiding Product Owners to execute on the product vision. The Product Manager also works closely with IT architects and other IT technical leads to ensure the solution effectively addresses program priorities while maintaining technical integrity. The Product Manager also attends most relevant product management meetings, planning, and backlog/vision refinement sessions. Product Managers work with Product Owners and customers to understand and communicate their needs, define system features, and participate in validation.
ROLE
• Identifies business customers' unmet needs, understands competitor landscape, and aligns on the problems to be solved with Product and pod members.
• Defines the Product team vision, strategy, and OKR's for the product being delivered, aligning business demand with the Product roadmap.
• Shapes and prioritizes backlog, utilizes business expertise and understanding of customer needs, translates requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Defines and tracks metrics to focus on business value realization throughout the product lifecycle, including end user KPIs and product performance.
• Owns intake commitment, roadmap, and quality of work product for a product.
• Acts as an empowered decision maker with regard to cross pod prioritization, removing roadblocks and driving prioritization and decisions where required.
• Shapes the pod vision/roadmap and leads the pod in delivering solutions oriented around business impact.
• Develops required changes to business process, adoption approaches, and any other business elements required to get maximum value from the solution.
• Acts as "voice of the customer" to ensure the team "builds the right thing".
• Clarifies requirements and delivery expectations with business stakeholders.
• Ensures the product meets stated business needs and achieves desired outcomes, collaborating with end users to drive adoption.
• Collaborates with leaders and team members to ensure successful market launch and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.
Required:
• Educational background or work experience in Business, Operations, Finance or STEM.
• Strong proficiency with financial management and project management practices, tools, and methodologies.
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to be detail-oriented, while communicating top down with function's Product Group leaders.
• Thought leader in developing systems and tools to enable commercial capabilities to serve the customer.
• Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills, as well as a positive attitude.
• Good knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, key Costco business functions.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, including presentation skills.
• Proven leadership skills; demonstrated team-building skills with ability to influence and motivate team members that report to other groups in the organization.
• Strong understanding of Product Management discipline, especially as it relates to data-driven prioritization and planning.
• Foundational skills in any relevant technical discipline, as required by their product (e.g., data analysis, automation).

Recommended:
• 6 years' of product management or sustainability experience.
• Experience as a Product Manager on a cross-functional agile team preferred.
• Experience with projects focused on infrastructures and software solutions.
• Experience working within an agile development framework

Pay Ranges:
Level 1 - $80,000 - $108,000
Level 2 - $95,000 - $130,000
Level 3 - $125,000 - $162,000
Level 4 - $150,000 - $200,000
