SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).
Responsibilities- Conduct evaluations and assessments of wetland environments, including hydrology, soil, and vegetation components.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance in the restoration, conservation, and management of wetland areas.
- Develop and implement project plans to ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and permitting requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on disaster resilience projects involving wetland management.
- Prepare detailed reports, maps, and presentations for internal stakeholders, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Stay updated on current regulations, technologies, and methodologies in wetland science.
Requirements- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience in a related field and professional registration, or
- Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of experience in a related field.
- Certification:
- Professional Wetlands Scientist (PWS) Certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of wetland assessment techniques and ecological principles.
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and stakeholder engagement.
- Completion of the following FEMA Independent Study Courses is preferred:
- IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
- IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
- IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
- IS-253.a: Overview of FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation Review.
- Work onsite in North Carolina.
- EOD Required.
