SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).
Responsibilities- Assess and restore landscapes and vegetation impacted by disasters, providing expert recommendations for recovery and sustainability.
- Develop and implement horticultural plans aligned with disaster recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with environmental planners, engineers, and other specialists to integrate horticultural best practices into broader recovery efforts.
- Prepare detailed reports, including plant assessments, site restoration plans, and progress evaluations.
- Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal to manage and track horticultural projects and associated documentation.
- Provide expertise during FEMA site inspections to ensure horticultural needs are adequately addressed.
- Stay current with FEMA training requirements and advancements in horticultural science.
Requirements- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience in a related field and professional registration or
- Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of experience in a related field.
- Certification:
- Certified Professional Horticulturist (CPH).
- Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
- IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
- IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
- IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
- IS-1004: The FEMA Site Inspection Process
- Proficiency in horticultural tools, software, and techniques.
- Strong understanding of disaster recovery processes and environmental planning.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
- Work onsite in North Carolina.
- EOD Required
