Job SummaryWe are seeking a candidate for
Sustainability Manager to join our Compass One Health Team. This person will have a passion for sustainability, promoting green environments and reducing food and facility waste. The Sustainability Manager will direct the functions of sustainability programming for the Hackensack Meridian Health system including, but not limited to, management, education, training, and performance improvement; assure standardized support of the client organization's key sustainability partners and collaborators; and ensure good public relations and communication is maintained throughout internal and external channels in the organization. Other responsibilities may include supporting population health, balanced food and food equity initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: - Sustainability Management and oversight across multiple hospital locations in the Hackensack Meridian Health System.
- Collaborate and work in tandem with hospital directors, chefs, foodservice and EVS teams to implement sustainability programming and initiatives and achieve outstanding results.
- Collaborates with the Vice President of Sustainability at Hackensack Meridian Health and the National Director of Sustainability in Morrison Healthcare to activate and implement programs that support Practice Greenhealth, CIMS Certification, Cool Food Pledge, and antibiotic stewardship; partner, communicate and co-develop programs that meet the scope of expectation for these organizational partners and the health system goals.
- Acts as liaison to the Crothall Healthcare Products and Standards Committee to manage Hackensack Meridian Health product standards and expectations.
- Captures sustainability data, outcomes and activities for reporting to organizational partners and to social media, local press outlets and hospital communication channels.
Preferred Qualifications: - Associate's or bachelor's degree required.
- Healthcare background preferred.
- Five years of experience in healthcare including two (2) years in a managerial position recommended.
- Multi-unit experience preferred.
