We are seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our integrated, multi-disciplinary team in Perth, Western Australia. At KCB, you will have the opportunity to work on large-scale, world-class local and international mining and resource projects. Your expertise will be crucial in the planning, investigation, assessment, design, and construction of tailings and water dams, as well as waste storage solutions for mining.

This role will give you the opportunity to:- Undertake hydrological assessments using Australian Rainfall and Runoff 2019 and relevant industry-standard software (RORB, WBNM, URBS, XPRAFTs, etc.);
- Conduct 2D hydraulic modelling to support flood risk characterization and surface water management system design using HECRAS or TUFLOW;
- Perform dam breach and runout assessments to industry-leading standards;
- Undertake water balance modelling for mine water management systems using GoldSim;
- Develop engineering solutions for a broad range of projects including tailings storage facilities, water dams, levees, diversions, roads, water/sediment dams, etc., from concept through to detailed design;
- Prepare and technically review engineering reports, drawings, specifications, bill of quantities, and cost estimates;
- Undertake project management and client management duties for assigned projects, including report writing and presentations;
- Mentor and develop junior staff through the provision of technical support and feedback;
- Build client rapport that develops projects from feasibility through to mine closure phases; and
- Work in a wonderful small company culture.
We value your:- B.Eng. Civil Engineering, or related field. Post graduate qualifications welcome;
- Professional Engineering registration (CPEng an RPEQ), or ability to attain professional registration within a year;
- Knowledge of Australian guidelines and standards: particularly Australian Rainfall and Runoff 2019;
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of relevant industry standard software for hydrologic (RORB, WBNM, URBS, XPRAFTs etc.) and hydraulic modelling (TUFLOW, HEC-RAS etc.);
- Experience in preparing engineering reports, drawings and specifications for studies and construction projects;
- Enthusiasm to learn and increase your technical skills and professional experience;
- Superior verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong initiative and commitment to technical excellence; and
- Exceptional team spirit, interpersonal skills and your ability to build long-term, successful relationships with our clients and our project teams.
