Tesla is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Diagnostics Systems Engineer to shape the future of diagnostic tools supporting our Service Engineering and Operations Teams. This role focuses on driving initiatives across Industrial Energy, Residential Energy, and Supercharging diagnostic tools. You will play a key role in problem solving, roadmap management, sprint planning, and firmware updates to optimize processes, reduce manual effort, and enhance operational efficiency. While this role does not require you to come in as an expert on Energy systems, it will work on Megapacks, Superchargers, and Powerwalls. A successful candidate will be one who is curious and can learn quickly about electrification and Energy systems. Responsibilities - Develop and execute a roadmap for diagnostic tools and services, ensuring alignment with cross-functional priorities
- Plan and facilitate sprints to deliver critical tasks on time
- Streamline workflows and enhance tool reliability through systemic process improvements
- Create firmware update and firmware release sign-off improvements, define firmware signals for fleet performance and analytics across product lines for operational efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align diagnostic tool, auto-ticketing, and self-test improvements to drive business goals
- Oversee the product development lifecycle, prioritizing high-impact features
- Define and monitor success metrics by creating data flow pipelines and building SQL-powered dashboards to report progress to leadership
Requirements - Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of experience with successful product and project implementation in a fast-paced environment
- Experience managing software development (e.g., software product management)
- Proficiency in data analytics using SQL
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with operational metrics and dashboard creation using Tableau (or similar tools) is preferred

$100,000 - $186,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
