What The Role IsClearway is searching for a highly skilled and motivated Supervisor of Distributed Solar Accounting, who will be primarily responsible for overseeing a team of senior / staff accountants on various accounting duties for Clearway's renewable energy projects in operation. The position requires an understanding of project accounting, significant experience in the monthly close process, knowledgeable in booking journal entries for complex projects and supervising the work of a team of three to four accountants This role will also be a point of contact with our internal stakeholders, such as the project accountants, corporate accounting teams, financial planning & analysis, and as well as our IT team. In addition, this role will interface with the Company's internal and external auditors for DGCS accounting related topics.

What You'll Be Doing- Perform accounting functions necessary to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger month-end close.
- Supervise a team of two to four staff and senior level accountants, each responsible for renewable (solar and wind) energy projects. Ensure consistency, accuracy and timeliness for the monthly and quarter closings.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and other items related to month-end and quarter-end processes.
- Provide direction and supervision for the team, working in close coordination with the Accounting Manager/Director.
- Train team members on desktop procedures and processes.
- Support the annual audit process for project-level entities, which includes coordinating data requests to external auditors, and providing substantial support for audit selections.
- Support the quarterly unaudited financials process in close coordination with the Senior Director of Financial Reporting.
- Work across internal functional departments (e.g., Treasury, Asset Management, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Procurement) along with Clearway, Inc. and external groups to ensure financial results for projects are accurate and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain internal control environment and ensure compliance with accounting policies and SOX regulations.
- Participate in process improvement including automation and efficiency projects.
What You'll Bring- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or another related field is required.
- Public Accounting Experience
- CPA
- Minimum of 7 years of professional work experience in accounting and/or financial reporting.
- Accounting knowledge: Working knowledge and general understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Analytical mindset: Ability to collect and analyze information, problem-solve and make suggestions aimed to refine and improve systems and processes. Ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets with large data sets.
- Business Acumen: Ability to understand the Renewable Energy industry and apply the understanding to reported results to increase awareness of potential issues or unusual items.
- Project management: Project management and organization skills with a demonstrated ability to navigate in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Ability to set priorities and respond quickly to changing demands from multiple sources.
- Attention to detail: Ability to observe and identify key details.
- Collaboration: Can develop and maintain cross-functional business partnerships with professionalism, as well as work independently.
- Communication skills: Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
- Strong willingness to learn new skills and information.
What Would Be Nice- Master's degree in Accountancy
- SAP/S4 Hana or other applicable ERP system experience

$98,000-$120,000 USD
