Job Title SummaryThe Aquatic Manager is responsible for the safety and welfare of all patrons at the Ruidoso Public Pool/ Wibit. The Aquatic Manager supervises all pool employees, maintains the work schedule, and completes all time sheets. Rescues, resuscitate, and provide basic first aid and CPR to all patrons. Conducts and teaches swimming class, and maintains chlorine levels in the pool.
Duties and Responsibilities Essential Job Functions- Assists the Parks & Recreation Director in hiring aquatic personnel.
- Assists the Parks & Recreation Director in establishing policies, procedures and safety rules for pool personnel and general public.
- Supervises approximately 20 seasonal pool workers, including lifeguards, cashiers and slide attendants.
- Responsible for maintaining and uploading time sheets and records on all employees at the swimming pool/waterpark.
- Responsible for collecting, counting, and itemizing aquatic receipts, including monies for swimming, lessons, pool parties and locker collections.
- Responsible to monitor inventory and daily maintenance of the Waterpark.
- Responsible for ordering, stocking, and supervising operation of concession at Pool
- Responsible for ordering chemicals and daily maintenance of the pool/waterpark.
- Responsible for opening and closing procedures of pool mechanical room and operations
- Maintains daily operations of pool mechanical room and chemicals, including back washing filters, adding acid, and chlorine as system demands
- Ensures daily chemical charts are routinely filled out and report to Parks and Recreation Director
- Provides support on cleaning, mopping and general maintenance duties daily.
- Prepared to rescue, resuscitate, and give basic first aid and CPR to all patrons.
- Check chlorine levels
- Clean pool and surrounding area, set out equipment, deck furniture, and materials needed for pool operations
- Follows acceptable guard rotation for each station.
- Inspects equipment and facilities on a regular basis to ensure proper maintenance
- Public relations
- Enforces rules and regulations at the pool/waterpark
- Ensure outstanding customer service for all guests by politely greeting and interacting with all Lake guests.
- Provides assistance, training, and information to staff and customers; explains and enforces policies and procedures; collects, records, tracks fee, also provides support on general maintenance duties daily.
- Swim (on the clock) at least 15 minutes uninterrupted when working public swim
- Operate emergency equipment and utilize First Aid supplies
Other Responsibilities or Job Requirements- Janitorial duties (cleaning restrooms, cleaning and disinfecting decks and showers).
- Crowd control in emergency situations.
- Completes personal timesheet accurately and timely. Ensures time is reported based on actual time worked.
- Ensures that any on-the job injury is reported immediately and followed up with appropriate forms and actions.

- May be required to work in other areas of the Parks & Recreation department.

Travel Requirements Minimum QualificationsQualifications- High School education or equivalent required.
- Three years' experience in supervision other employees
- Certification in Lifeguard Training American Red Cross
- WSI certification preferred.
- Professional CPR and First Aid certification required before season opening
- Knowledge of swimming pool filters
- Knowledge and use of chemicals for swimming pool and water chemistry
- Knowledge of automated chlorination system
- Knowledge of opening and closing procedures of pool mechanical room and operations
- Continuous contact with the public and good public relation skills
- Ability to recognize dangerous situation in the Pool area.
- Must be able to perform in emergency situations.

- If you possess a New Mexico Driver's license then you must maintain a valid New Mexico motor vehicle operator's permit of appropriate classification and endorsement as required. Must agree to maintain a satisfactory MVR and minimum requirement of insurability as required by law. MVR background checks will be conducted by the Village.
