Job DescriptionJPMorgan's Tax Oriented Investments (TOI) group is responsible for investing the Firm's capital in earning assets that are tax-advantaged. Current TOI Energy assets include investments in over 300 alternative energy projects representing over 40 gigawatts of capacity across 37 states. The TOI Energy group employs over 40 professionals, is based in Chicago , and is part of the Commercial & Investment Bank.
This position is in the TOI Energy Asset Management Group; a functional area responsible for all aspects of monitoring, maintaining, and reporting on a portfolio of "tax equity" investments in alternative energy projects, including wind, solar, geothermal and other energy technologies.
Job Responsibilities: - Take a lead role in managing and enhancing performance data collection systems to increase efficiency and ensure accuracy; including tracking and electronically filing periodic operating reports and other documents received from clients.
- Develop and prepare reports for use within Asset Management as well as support asset managers in the preparation of portfolio performance presentations for Senior Management and other TOI groups.
- Track, maintain, and keep updated various Excel spreadsheets associated with outstanding issues or risk controls.
- As needed, contact outside clients to follow up on missing reports or to investigate inconsistencies in the reporting.
- Become conversant in the intricacies of the transaction investment structures and the associated cash flow spreadsheet models.
- Provide support and analysis related to asset workouts and dispositions.
- Support planning and tracking of asset inspection visits.
- Work with engineering, accounting, and information technology personnel in designing and maintaining the database for tracking transaction information and performance.
- Work closely with asset managers to identify issues within the portfolio and provide "lessons learned" feedback to the TOI Energy origination group and Risk officers.
- Support asset managers to monitor and analyze monthly operating reports and annual budgets and recommend follow up with project sponsors or internal/external consultants as needed.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills: - Bachelor's or Associate's degree; accounting or finance major preferred.
- Relevant work experience in project finance, asset management or lending credit analysis a plus.
- Established computer skills - including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and experience with Large Language Models. Familiarity with Alteryx, Tableau or Python a plus.
