Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead the growth of our energy advisory consulting and commodity procurement services in the
Mid-Atlantic region, with a primary focus on Pennsylvania and the PJM region. The BDM will be responsible for expanding our client base across electricity and natural gas contracts, as well as value-added services such as utility bill auditing and demand response. This is a
HUNTER role with access to national markets within
PJM, NYISO, ERCOT and CALISO. RESPONSIBILITIES:Client Acquisition & Relationship Building: - Identify and engage prospective clients, building strong, long-term relationships.
- Develop customized energy solutions for clients across various industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, real estate, data centers, and smaller businesses like restaurants and dry cleaners.
- Maintain high client satisfaction and secure renewals by delivering tailored solutions and superior service.
Sales Strategy & Execution: - Actively target and penetrate the Mid-Atlantic region's commercial energy market by leveraging industry data and trends.
- Conduct consultative sales meetings to understand client energy needs and risk tolerance.
- Deliver impactful sales presentations, demonstrating executive presence and effectively communicating service benefits.
- Address client concerns and objections to close sales and achieve revenue targets.
Market Expertise & Insights: - Stay informed about regulatory changes and market dynamics within the Mid-Atlantic region to offer clients strategic and compliant energy solutions.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor offerings to identify new business opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
Operational & Collaborative Excellence: - Work closely with internal operations and management teams to ensure seamless service delivery and a positive customer experience.
- Utilize CRM tools to manage leads, optimize sales processes, and track client interactions for efficiency and effectiveness.
REQUIREMENTS - 3+ years of proven business development, sales, or account management experience, preferably in the energy sector or related field.
- 3+ years of B2B outside sales experience.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and other channels.
- Knowledge of commercial energy markets within PA and/or the PJM region preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region as needed.
