Senior Environmental/Stormwater Engineer or Environmental Scientist 3 to work in a technical project management role for projects in theLosAngeles Metro
/Basin Area of California. The ideal candidate brings significant consulting experience and client trusted-advisor relationships, and will provide leadership, strategic direction, and technical support to enhance our California stormwater compliance practice.
As a senior consultant, you will be accountable for supporting the development, management, and technical delivery of work for a variety of aerospace, industrial manufacturing, chemical processing, commercial real estate, and municipal/agency clients supported by collaborative, multidisciplinary project teams. Los Angeles County, in conjunction with our Costa Mesa, CA office.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESThe successful candidate will:- Lead the execution of project work and proposals on large and/or complex multi-disciplinary projects to align with company-defined business objectives and client expectations in partnership with the project team.
- Provide a wide range of support for environmental compliance related to stormwater quality management, construction and post-construction BMPs, NPDES permitting, and California stormwater requirements.
- Leverage your understanding of applicable local, regional, state, and federal stormwater program guidance, policy, and regulations in California and other States to align project scopes with client objectives and regulatory requirements to deliver superior client value.
- Regularly coach, mentor, and direct staff in the quality execution of projects and preparation of analyses, technical reports, and other deliverables, with a focus on developing skills to support their professional growth.
- Be able to compile and communicate stormwater program information in a clear and concise manner appropriate for addressing complex issues to regulators and project stakeholders.
- Oversee and/or perform occasional fieldwork, including some travel and, when necessary, weekend work.
- Conduct permit reviews, perform site visits, and oversee inspection and sampling programs.
- Lead business development and proposal efforts; serve in a client service role.
- Excel in your field by engaging with external organizations, delivering internal and external presentations, and contributing to technical publications.
- Embrace Haley & Aldrich's foundational safety behaviors and lead all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements- Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, chemistry, or other environmental science related field.
- 12+ years of related stormwater experience in strategic environmental consulting.
- QISP and/or QSD (or ability to obtain immediately) is required.
- One or more construction stormwater certifications (e.g., CISEC, CPESC, CPSWQ, CESSWI) is desired.
- Professional registration or certification, as applicable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including verbally communicating and presenting project information to clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
- Apply emotional intelligence to achieve higher impact on project team and client communications.
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft suite, including Excel to create calculation sheets.
- Demonstrated ability to work on and lead interdisciplinary project teams.
Preferred Skills- Master's degree in related field.
- Experience with Municipal NPDES/MS4 programs.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates.

The salary range for this position in
Los Angeles, CA is $140,000 - $165,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions. Haley & Aldrich reviews salary ranges each quarter to assess competitiveness with the market.
