Job DescriptionThe City of Naperville's Water Utility is currently seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineer responsible for water main and sanitary sewer, engineering design, construction management, and inspection in respect to water distribution & supply, wastewater collection & pumping, and wastewater treatment improvement projects. The Engineer conducts reviews and provides engineering assistance on private developments for water main and sanitary sewer system construction.
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $67,852.44 - $97,308.34 per year, commensurate with credentials and experience. The Pay Grade for this position is P05. For additional information, please click here Duties - Designs and prepares construction documents for lift stations, pump stations, water mains, and sanitary sewer projects under senior staff's supervision.
- Provides resident engineering and construction management for water main and sanitary sewer construction projects.
- Assists with complex sanitary lift station, water supply, and wastewater treatment project construction management.
- Reviews engineering drawings of subdivisions and commercial development plans for water main and sanitary sewer system construction, material design, and layout.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- One to two years of work experience in related field.
- A valid State of Illinois Engineer Intern License.
- A valid State of Illinois Class D driver's license.
Preferred- Experience with water distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, wastewater treatment improvements design and construction management.
- Experience with AutoCAD drafting.
