Job DetailsThe Energy Manager (EM) will ensure that TJU upholds and works towards finding new, innovative and economically reductive ways to be "green" under the guidance of the Facilities and Real Estate Department. The position will be in charge of developing, implementing and monitoring company organizational sustainability and energy strategies. The EM will be responsible for communicating the plans, formulating budgets ($42M/year) and developing the strategies to Department VPs and pillar team leaders. Develop a forward strategy that places TJU in the best position to obtain favorable rates, terms and conditions for the procurement of utilities. Analyzes building systems to determine extent of sustainability opportunities; suggesting changes in system operations, systems configurations, and other changes that will affect economics and environment of operation.
Job Description- Directs, plans and manages the Sustainability and Energy Program in alignment with the university and hospital goals.
- Organizes and coordinates services provided, oversees operations, and manages staff and budget in accordance with TJU's policies and procedures.
- Responsible for strategic development develops staff and facilities to meet new and existing needs.
- Works on interdisciplinary teams and projects to further the overall goals of the organization.
- Good understanding of Sustainability practice. Must be able to calculate building heating and cooling loads.
- Good written and oral presentation skills required.
- Should be familiar with water cooling towers, steam plants, building automation system, and energy conservation devices and techniques related to same.
Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering
ANDExperience:
Five to ten years' experience in HVAC and building system analysis and design, preferably with a related institution or plant operations.
