Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company is looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer. In this role you will design and/or coordinate the implementation of internal EHS guidelines and processes within the Varian/Siemens Healthineers landscape.
**This role is designed to be onsite M-F. 70% in Palo Alto / 30% in San Jose**
What You will do:- Develop, propose and implement EHS processes and/or methods.
- Plan and accomplish roll out of EHS programs or projects, and monitor respective milestones in related organization.
- Audit, assess, inspect, analyze and monitor adherence to EHS standards in assigned organizations, and prepare regular EHS reporting.
- Audit, assess, inspect, analyze and report on changes in relevant EHS laws and regulations, and recommend changes for internal standards.
- Contribute to internal and external EHS Management System audits, in support of accountable EHS officer.
- Prepare regular internal and external EHS reporting for official authorities, or for internal stakeholders/management.
- Maintain operational contact to external authorities.
- Train employees and management on various EHS topics.
- Keep abreast with all respective regulations and standards in federal, state, regional or local law.
- Help develop, train and evaluate Powered Industrial Truck operators (ie: Forklifts, Electric Pallet Jacks, etc.)
- Handle HazMat Waste management pickup by outside vendors
What You will have:- Bachelor degree (science and/or environmental studies) or 3-5 years field experience
- Microsoft suite of applications (ie: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
- Adobe Reader/Acrobat experience

- DOT Hazardous Materials Shipping training
- HAZWOPER training
- Red Cross First Aid/AED/BBP Training
The pay range for this position is
$93.900 - 140,800 USD annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, work location, and experience. The annual incentive target is 5
