Position Summary:

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Environmental Assessments: Perform site assessments to identify potential environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Develop Pollution Control Strategies: Design and implement systems to reduce pollution and manage waste effectively.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Project Management: Oversee environmental projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet all regulatory and safety standards.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyze environmental data to prepare detailed reports for stakeholders.
  • Community Engagement: Work with community groups and stakeholders to address environmental concerns and promote sustainability initiatives.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance on environmental issues to other departments and teams.
  • Research and Development: Stay updated on the latest environmental technologies and practices to apply them to improve project outcomes.
  • The Senior Environmental Engineer is responsible for developing, organizing, administering, and maintaining YMMC Environmental Programs and Environmental Management System (ISO 14001).
  • Serve as interface, reporting and permitting contact for governmental and third-party agencies and compile and complete required environmental reports for agency submission.
  • Lead environmental team.
  • Serve as ISO 14001 Lead Auditor.
  • Create and conduct environmental program training for employees.
  • Identify areas for reduction of environmental impacts, research alternatives, and implement improvement projects and evaluate all new environmental regulations for applicability.
  • Create and maintain emergency response plans and lead emergency response teams.
  • Maintain environmental permits including Title V, Stormwater and Industrial Pretreatment and review new or modified processes for environmental impact, regulatory and permit requirements.
  • Ability to create, plan, manage and lead multiple projects.
  • Track required environmental information, communicate results, and analyze data for improvement activities.
  • Lead employee teams on environmental improvement projects.

Qualifications

Education / Experience:

  • 4 Year degree in Environmental or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in industrial environmental reporting and engineering.
  • Experience to include ISO14001 (EMS), Title V Permit, SARA, RCRA large quantity generator and industrial wastewater permitting.

 Other Required Skills:

  • Ability to lead teams and plan, implement and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong math, chemistry and analytical skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Paint process knowledge and paint air permitting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Articulate 360 Training Software
