What you'll doBecome part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Oversee water resource management, including stormwater systems, process water, and wastewater treatment operations at the Blythewood, SC factory.
- Develop and implement water conservation and recycling strategies to optimize resource efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local water regulations, including discharge permits (NPDES) and stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP).
- Manage solid and hazardous waste programs, including waste minimization, recycling, and proper disposal practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate waste reduction and water conservation measures into manufacturing processes.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to monitor compliance with environmental regulations and corporate sustainability goals.
- Prepare and submit required reports, permits, and documentation related to water and waste compliance.
- Partner with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, consultants, and contractors, to manage permits and environmental initiatives.
- Analyze and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to water and waste management, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
- Support sustainability projects, such as reducing wastewater generation, increasing recycling rates, and implementing zero-waste initiatives.
- Provide technical support and training to internal teams on water and waste compliance requirements.
- Perform additional tasks and/or projects as directed by the Manager, Environmental Compliance.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, SC
- The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to other sites and participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- A bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in water and wastewater management, waste reduction, or environmental compliance.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local water and waste regulations, including NPDES permits and hazardous waste handling requirements.
- Experience with stormwater management, wastewater treatment systems, and solid waste programs in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with environmental compliance software or systems.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
- A commitment to environmental sustainability and continuous improvement.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required.

Pay TransparencyThis is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $130,000-$145,000
Internal leveling code: IC8
