About the RoleThe
Energy Management Project Coordinator (EMPC) will support the
Office of Sustainability and Resilience (OSR) by coordinating and executing projects assigned by the
Certified Energy Manager (CEM). This role involves collaborating with other
City Departments, energy vendors, and local stakeholders to address energy management needs. The EMPC will help implement
local projects that improve energy efficiency and climate resilience while supporting fieldwork and research initiatives.
Essential Functions- Support the municipality in technical data collection and analysis.
- Utilize advanced energy management software and technologies under the supervision of the Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
- Participate in fieldwork activities, including drone and ground surveys of building envelopes and energy infrastructure.
- Analyze and research energy data from City projects and energy vendors under the supervision of City Analysts.
- Assist with identifying and applying for financial support (e.g., grants, in-kind contributions) to sustain projects beyond the service term.
Site-Dependent Activities (May Include):- Conduct fieldwork with data loggers, support drone surveys, and assist in energy equipment inventory to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
- Utilize photo documentation and technical inventory practices.
- Participate in educational outreach activities regarding water and heat management and resilience hubs in response to extreme weather events.
- Conduct community asset and data mapping for clean energy action planning to implement energy efficiency and resilience efforts.
QualificationsWhat You BringMinimum Qualifications:- Some college experience or its recognized equivalent by the start date.
- Proficiency in computer skills and confidence using technology.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word, performing internet research, completing data entry, managing email communication, using databases/software, and videoconferencing.
- A valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:- Hands-on experience (or willingness to learn) with practical technical testing.
- Experience in project implementation, direct execution of plans, and plan development.
