HOURS: Monday - Friday 10:00am - 1:00pm

RATE: $16/hour - minimum starting rate

TYPE: Part-Time/Seasonal

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 16 years of age or older. Prefer candidates to have prior experience working with children and/or aquatics experience, and/or an interest in education or recreation as a possible career goal. Swimming skills are preferred. Possess an outgoing personality with good interpersonal skills. Strong communication skills with both children and adults is essential. Ability to be creative and think on your feet to react to various situations and engage the children in various activities. Should be physically fit in order to participate in camp activities and should enjoy working outdoor in various weather conditions including heat and humidity.

DUTIES:
Under the direction and supervision of the Aquatics Program Manager, the Aquatic Camp Counselor is responsible for helping the Aquatics Program Coordinator with the day to day planning, organizing, and implementing of all aspects of the assigned Day Camp. They must be friendly, energetic, and creative with a genuine desire to interact with children and provide a memorable experience. Staff are responsible for the care, general safety and development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants in his/her group. Duties include but not limited to; creating and setting up daily activities for the children, interacting with and teaching them various skills or games, providing a positive experience and safe environment, taking attendance and monitoring behavior, providing updates to parents, and more. This is an at-will position.
