Northrop Grumman is seeking an Environmental Engineer 3 to join our Corporate Environment, Health and Safety team located in Falls Church, Virginia. The selected applicant will be responsible for successfully developing, implementing and managing all environmental compliance and sustainability programs across the Corporate organization real estate portfolio.
This position will be located in our Falls Church, VA location.Key roles and responsibilities include:
- Review and analyze existing and proposed environmental regulations to determine financial, industrial, public, programmatic and environmental impact.
- Assist in developing and implementing company environmental compliance policies, procedures and strategies.
- Support Corporate offices and Flight Operations in developing, implementing and reporting environmental sustainability initiatives.
- Monitor pollution prevention activities, compliance and auditing efforts.
- Administer company membership in environmental organizations and vendor subscriptions.
- Complete required submittals and reporting to environmental regulatory agencies.
- Conduct management systems evaluations as part of internal environment, health and safety (EHS) compliance audits.
- Represent company in government and industry rule-making activities.
- Partner with management to continuously improve the culture, awareness and accountability in support of environmental compliance and sustainability programs.
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's (BS or BA) degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental compliance OR a Master of Science (MS) in the same disciplines with 3 years of relevant experience OR an Associate's degree and 7 years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma and 9 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in reviewing and analyzing federal, state, local and international environmental regulations and developing appropriate compliance strategies.
- Experience in conducting EHS regulatory compliance assurance assessments.
- Experience with managing various environmental compliance programs (with a special emphasis on chemicals, energetics, or water issues).
- Experience with managing/overseeing third party consultants/contractors.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with emerging chemical regulations such as USEPA Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Risk Management Rules and EU Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).
- Professional environmental certification such as Professional Engineer (P.E.), Hazardous Materials Manager (HMM) or Environmental Auditor.
- Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvements and to develop and implement more efficient and enhanced programs.
- Computer based skills specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Tableau.
- Excellent communication skills and collaboration with all levels of an organization are a must.
- Ability to perform job duties with general direction and supervision and to provide technical solutions to complex problems based on sound environmental principles.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
