The Digital Production Specialist is charged with building, editing, managing, and posting content across the Woodworking Group websites. They are a highly organized individual, capable of multitasking, and working within a deadline. This person will have experience working in the Adobe Creative Suites, as well as various website platforms such as Wordpress. They will have a working knowledge of HTML and be well-versed in SEO best practices. They report and collaborate with the Executive Digital Editor and, along with the Digital Content Editor, manage content scheduling plans and cadences through project management tools such as Trello/Jira. The Digital Production Manager must be aware and supportive of the brand's business objectives and be adaptable to changing business needs and content distribution methods as technology evolves. The measure of success for this position is growth in website engagement as well maintaining reasonable targets for content velocity.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:- Leverage content archives following best practices to build and format articles, blogs, and videos for our brand websites.
- Create, edit, or reformat images and graphics.
- Execute issue swaps, working to break up, build, and optimize each and every issue across our titles.
- Curate and assemble content for brand e-letters
- Assist in editing copy and metadata on our websites for clarity and for SEO.
- Create and maintain digital project management calendar(s) across the Woodworking Group.
- Use SEO tools such as Google Analytics and SEMrush to optimize content.
- Work as a liaison between the Active Interest Media development team and the Executive Digital Editor to report, troubleshoot, and fix website issues.
- Work with stakeholders within the digital team to develop workflow efficiencies within the digital arm of the Woodworking Group.
- Work with the Woodworking Group contracted Copy Editor (with the input and support of Executive Production Manager) as necessary to ensure that critical content is reviewed for technical and grammatical accuracy.
- Assist with building/execution of integrated digital ad sales programs that require editorial and site support (when needed).
- Work with the team across brand to support special initiatives and projects including but not limited to project guides, white papers/downloads, e-learning events, online webinars and social media "live" feeds.
