Position Highlights University Facility Services at the University of Arizona is looking for a Recycling Coordinator to join our Recycling team. This position will perform duties related to recycling functions, waste management, including trash hauling, pick-up and delivery of materials, assistance to trades shops, site clean-up, baling cardboard, sorting various materials for recycling such as white paper, newspaper, aluminum cans, plastics, etc. This position includes working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, driving a University vehicle and intense laborious workloads. We are looking to fill our Monday through Friday shift from 5:00am to 1:30pm. Overtime may be necessary on weekends based on campus needs. Duties & Responsibilities - Operates baler, compactor, power washer, and various vehicles.
- Places and picks up barricades.
- Drives a University vehicle and picks up and unloads materials and equipment at job sites.
- Assistance to trade shops when needed.
- Installs campus signage and fencing.
- Cleans shops and job sites.
- Picks-up and delivers recycling containers throughout campus.
- Sorts various materials for recycling.
- Assists with promotion and education of recycling program.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:- Lifts or moves equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Works in all weather conditions indoors and outdoors.
- This position includes workingindoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, driving a University vehicleand intense laborious workloads.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities:- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to follow schedules and meet deadlines.
*Two positions to be filled.
One for a regular 8-hour day, Monday-Friday.
Second position for weekends with a 10-hour shift working Friday-Monday.
Minimum Qualifications - High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
- Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications- Prior experience working in a college/university setting.
- Prior experience working in recycling programs or waste removal.
