ResponsibilitiesUnder general supervision, oversee the work of Maintenance Yard personnel. In doing so, train and orient new staff to the Medical Center. Assist in developing weekly staffing schedules and prepare daily work schedules. Responsible for maintaining the Medical Center grounds and gardens by performing landscape design such as planting, seeding, cultivating, fertilizing and pruning. Must have demonstrated abilities to lead peers as well as have the analytical skills necessary to read and interpret blueprints and perform mathematical calculations and operate power machinery.
- Remove snow or other impediments from all walkways, parking lots, driveways, entrances and exits either manually or with power equipment.
- Adhere to safety regulations for all tools and equipment.
- Perform minor maintenance on yard and garden equipment. Assures oil is checked in equipment daily.
- Calculate the amount of materials necessary to complete a job. In doing so, requisitions the amount of supplies required.
- Coordinate the activities of staff engaged in ground maintenance.
- Report to the supervisor all yard and ground operation and the possibility of capital or unforeseen expenditures.

RequirementsLicensure / Certification / Registration:
- Certified Master Certification specializing in Gardening obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required. and Experience required in landscape design, which can be obtained in two (2) to three (3) years of work experience. Knowledge of English language
in order to understand and transmit information orally or in writing is required.
