Join us as a Landscape Gardener! WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: - Lead the charge in maintaining beautiful landscapes by managing watering, weeding, mowing, pruning, and fertilizing tasks.
- Oversee greenhouse operations, ensuring healthy growth through planting, watering, fertilizing, pesticide spraying, and transplanting.
- Operate a variety of equipment including small gardening tools, lawn mowers, tractors, trucks, rakes, garden tillers, and shovels, all while following safety regulations.
- Contribute to landscape design for City properties, selecting and planting trees, plants, and flowers, while strategically planning and purchasing plant materials and supplies.
- Serve as the lead worker, guiding and managing a team while keeping track of hours worked.
- Handle essential clerical tasks, such as completing work orders, maintaining logs and records, and preparing routine reports.
REQUIREMENTS: - Education: High School diploma, GED, or vocational school completion.
- Experience: At least one year of groundskeeping, landscaping, or related experience (or a combination of education, training, and experience that provides the necessary skills).
- License Requirements: Valid Driver's License required.
- Certification: Must obtain a Pesticide Applicator's License within the first 12 months of employment.
SALARY: - Grade G1; $41,600 yr. ($20/hr), plus a full benefit package.
HOURS: - 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime expected.
