Instructional Aquatic Aide

Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of students? The Instructional Aquatic Aide works under the direction of the swim instructor to provide extra support to students promoting maximum growth.


Responsibilities

  • Assists certified swim instructors by providing direct supervision and guidance to students during swimming lessons, ensuring safety, maintaining order in the pool, and supporting the learning process under the direction of the lead instructor supervising the lifeguards
  • Being present during the use of the pool by all ages (children and adults) Big Spring Students, students from other schools, and adults.
  • Pool Supervision and Lifeguarding: Closely monitor swimmers in the pool, identifying potential hazards and responding quickly to any safety concerns. 
  • Maintain order on the pool deck by directing student movement, ensuring proper lane usage, and enforcing pool rules. 
  • Duties may include setting up equipment, managing class flow, providing positive reinforcement, and monitoring student progress
  • Provide swimming skill instruction of Bulldog Swimming Lessons levels 1-6 for students in grades 1-5.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid Certified
  • Babysitting Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor, and Water Safety Instructor Certifications preferred.
  • PA Department of Education Form 6004: Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification – Act 24
  • PA State Police Criminal History Clearance – Act 34
  • Federal Criminal History Clearance – Act 114
  • Child Abuse Clearance – Act 151
  • Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release – Act 168
  • Tuberculosis Test/Physical
