Do you have a background in background in electrical power systems and working with operations or program management teams? Are you excited to work on the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure? In this role, you will own a global program to design and build power infrastructure that meets the highest bar for reliability and robustness, including reporting on reliability metrics across AWS's global footprint.
You will engage with electric utilities across AWS's global footprint to specify and contribute to the design of reliable transmission and distribution power infrastructure. You will manage multiple projects and evaluate the impacts of design considerations in medium and high voltage electric systems on existing and future data center operations.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong electrical engineering background, coupled with experience in data center program management. They will have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the skill-set to successfully lead complex projects with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders. By establishing and growing business and technical relationships, and managing the day-to-day interactions with these partners, this candidate will be responsible for ensuring the critical electrical infrastructure that serves AWS meets the highest standard for reliability and availability.

• \tOwn program management for the global power reliability program
• \tSpecify requirements for high and medium voltage systems that supply AWS data centers
• \tManage technical elements of the interconnection of AWS data centers to the electric grid by working with utilities and local AWS operations and engineering teams across the globe
• \tWork with engineering teams at utilities and design firms to put forth innovative solutions to meet AWS requirements
• \tSupport the development and execution of a comprehensive energy and utilities strategy for AWS data centers
• \tDrive process improvement to streamline execution of strategic initiatives and technology solutions
• \tLead the development of metrics to ensure the most impactful delivery goals are formulated to meet program goals, including defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive high impact business decisions and reporting to senior leadership.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• \tBachelor's Degree in an Engineering field (preferably Electrical)
• \t3-5 years in designing high and/or medium voltage power systems
• \t2-4 years in program or project management
• \tExperience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive business and reporting to senior leadership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• \tMasters or MBA in related field
• \tExperience working with public utility commissions and other energy regulators
• \tStrong analytical and commercial skills to review tariffs, energy projects, and power contracts
• \tExperience designing onsite generation projects including natural gas, solar, and energy storage
• \tExperience with IT infrastructure, data centers and cloud services
• \tExperience diving deep into data, existing processes, people, and systems in order to simplify complex processes

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
