Our Commodity Energy Trading practice is looking for an experienced candidates from Consultant to Senior Manager to join the team Our clients depend on our deep industry expertise to navigate a trading world marked by price volatility, increasingly complex value chains, and demanding regulatory environments. We assist in defining / executing their business strategy, assessing / improving their business capabilities, enabling technology and digital transformation, and advising on how to best manage risk /regulatory requirements for their business. Our goal is to help trading companies adapt to a lower carbon intensity world, where effective portfolio management in volatile markets and the implementation of digital solutions are crucial for delivering insightful, best-in-class portfolio strategies and facilitating the energy transition.
What you will be doing - Strategy & Commercial Advisory - US market entry and establishment, commercial trading & hedging strategy, book structure & transfer pricing
- Energy Transition Advisory - carbon / emissions measurement frameworks & reporting
- Business Capability Development- trading capability assessment & benchmarking, trading capability design, operating & organization design, business process design, business change program planning, business & IT readiness & training, operational excellence
- Technology Advisory & Transformation - technology strategy & architecture design, IT operating model design, technology capability building, technology program QA & health checks, vendor selection & implementation
- Risk and Regulatory Advisory- risk strategy definition, risk management policy design, risk capability assessment & design (market, credit, operational, climate, etc.), regulatory & compliance capability assessment & design (KYC, AML, trade surveillance, etc.)
- Data & Analytics- data & analytics strategy /and architecture design, data & analytics solution design & delivery
Your skills and experience- Our Consultant position typically requires a minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience (Senior Consultant 4-7 years; Manager 6-8 years; Senior Manager 8+ years) in a consulting or industry role, with experience in Commodity & Energy Trading delivery.
We are looking to hire motivated energy and commodity trading practitioners, ideally based in Houston or New York, who are passionate about helping clients to deliver their most complex and strategic transformations. We are interested in individuals who can bring delivery, advisory experience and expertise in the following areas:
- Strategy and commercial advisory with a focus on crude and refined products trading businesses
- Functional expertise across the crude and refined products value chain
- Client-side implementation advisory on platform modernizations and transformations - with a specialization in vendor solutions (e.g., OpenLink Endur / cMotion, etc.)
- Capability assessment / target operating model design for crude and refined products trading organizations
- Market entry and readiness for trading businesses
- Carbon measurement / decarbonization & transition planning for organizations across the energy value chain
- Risk and regulatory advisory
- Trading business and IT transformation and change management
- Trading and data analytics architecture strategy and design
- Complex program / project delivery in trading environments
