position summaryMerjent, Inc. (Merjent) is seeking a highly motivated engineer with a focus on water resources to join our team. The successful candidate will work with clients, internal engineers, and other team members to manage and support preparation of plans/specifications; conduct permit review, feasibility investigations, and report and study preparation; ensure compliance with regulations; and complete other design documentation development related to water resources for client projects. Experience with and knowledge of Pennsylvania stormwater regulations, water resources requirements, and the regulatory process for local and state regulations are a must. This position will focus on water resources affected by primarily energy industry projects such as natural gas, electric transmission, transportation, wind, and solar.
This is a full-time benefits eligible opportunity that can be based anywhere in the U.S. The anticipated annual salary for this position is between $143,000 and $173,000 annually, dependent upon qualifications and experience.

responsibilities- Manage project teams with respect to engineering needs.
- Assist clients with the design and analysis of a variety of projects, including civil engineering requests related to water resources.
- Prepare design documents and technical reports to assist in the requested scope of work and associated budgets for engineering services.
- Review documents to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and industry standards.
- Prepare technical documents for client and project management review and provide revisions based upon feedback.
- Lead development of proposals, quotes, and scopes for clients' projects and needs.
- Lead project meetings and interact with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Adhere to project schedules and budgets based on client needs.
qualifications and experience- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering.
- 8+ years of progressive experience working within the field of engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Previous experience leading a team of junior engineers.
- Previous experience working with energy clients preferred.
- Previous experience working on hydro and dam projects is a plus.
- Previous experience working with a professional services consulting company is preferred.
- Previous experience or training with CAD software (AutoCAD), GIS (ESRI), and a variety of hydrology and hydraulic modeling software.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write descriptive and technically accurate specifications and reports.
