Punahou School is a leader in sustainability education, integrating innovative practices and initiatives inspired by Hawaiian culture to drive meaningful change. With a campus that serves as a living laboratory and the recent launch of a 15-month high school leadership program in sustainability, interns have the opportunity to engage in projects that engage young people in taking action. Interns will contribute to the success of the fellowship program while gaining hands-on experience in sustainability within an ideal environment for those eager to make a difference and shape a more sustainable future. Punahou School is currently recruiting a passionate and dynamic Program Coordinator to join our Summer Sustainability Fellowship Program, aimed at inspiring and educating the next generation of environmental leaders. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide direct support to fellowship students, acting as a primary point of contact for their needs, concerns, and questions through the summer, 6-week program
- Co-facilitate Hawaiʻi Island experience, June 10-13, 2025
- Plan and lead in-person meetings
- Conduct weekly site visits and check-ins with both fellows and host organizations to ensure adherence to safety guidelines
- Plan, organize, and oversee logistics for field trips, experiential learning activities, and other hands-on components during the summer program and school year
- Co-design the summer program curriculum and experiential learning components, ensuring a cohesive and impactful experience for fellows
Position Details:- Work Year: 1.5 Months
- School Year: Summer School 2025, June - July
- Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Hours may vary depending on course
- Stipend Range*: $3,473 - $8,871 - Compensation is commensurate with qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One (1) year of teaching experience required.
- Three (3) years of experience providing training and/or coaching for teachers.
- Experience in project-based learning and curriculum development.
- Strong knowledge of sustainability concepts, climate change, conservation, and environmental stewardship.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and engage students in meaningful discussions and activities.
- Enthusiasm for the outdoors and a willingness to lead field trips and outdoor activities.
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic educational environment.
Preferred Qualifications:- Three (3) years of teaching experience preferred.
- Teaching certification or relevant credentials.
- Knowledge of local environmental resources, organizations, and initiatives.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
