Your impactCoordinate a comprehensive compliance program that drives performance against Safety and Sustainabiliy (S&S) commitments and obligations across the business globally.
As part of our team you will- Maintain a company-wide management system for compliance to S&S-related obligations, in collaboration with technical teams, i.e., environmental permits, community agreements, regulatory requirements, company commitments etc.
- Develop project plans to broaden the Compliance Register scope, incorporating additional requirements e.g. increasing jurisdictions and/or specific technical commitments.
- Measure and track audit findings and action plans through internal reporting and dashboards.
- In collaboration with the S&S Performance Support Centre (PSC), develop compliance dashboards to enhance visibility and drive performance at the site, business unit and enterprise levels.
- Provide appropriate training and support for operations' teams to 'own' and maintain the Compliance Register.
- Define measures of success at the asset, business unit and enterprise level, and measure performance of each operation accordingly.
- Drive internal reporting of the Compliance Register, including tracking non-compliances.
- Develop strategies to improve performance against various compliance requirements.
- Facilitate shared learnings across the businesses to support each operation to improve compliance performance, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Adapt processes for handling safety and sustainability-related compliance to regulatory requirements in collaboration with technical teams.
- Explain the purpose of the work of your team and how it adds value to the business.
- Encourage your team members to identify critical issues which will affect the work.
- Listen when issues are raised.

Prerequisites for your success in this roleProfessional degree, preferably in sustainability, engineering, business, geoscience, finance or other related field.Understanding of sustainability management system concepts, methodologies and tools; and applicable regulatory-required expectations. Working knowledge of data management concepts, methodologies and tools. Understanding of database software preferred. Awareness of safety and sustainability (environment, social responsibility, health and safety) areas of management and associated risk and opportunity management, in the resources industry preferred. Primary skills include oversight of systems and processes for compliance systems management, including for legal obligations. For this Specialist role, the applicant must demonstrate advanced proficiency in these areas. Proficiency required in the application systems, processes and activities that support compliance management, and audit against legal commitments. The role also necessitates familiarity with audit processes, including the ability to carry out specific activities using appropriate tools and processes to achieve defined business outcomes. Refer to the four levels of proficiency in our Capability Framework related to technical skills, which are specific to the role.
Your work environmentThe preferred location for this position is the Corporate headquarters in Denver, CO, but qualified candidates in proximity to our regional offices are also encouraged to apply.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $124,000-162,750.. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
