DimensionsYour impactAs a Specialist, Safety & Sustainability Risk, you will be responsible for implementing safety and sustainability risk management programs across Newmont. Your work will help drive continuous improvement and strengthen our governance approach to functional risk management across the organization.
As part of our team you will- Implement and oversee safety & sustainability (S&S) risk management programs at business units and sites.
- Work closely with site teams, Business Units and other functions to identify and report on S&S risks, and develop mitigations to address them.
- Implement Enterprise-wide functional control frameworks and deliver verification programs to optimize risk management oversight for S&S risks.
- Implement Enterprise-led S&S risk assurance program at sites including the planning, scheduling, delivery and reporting activities
- Monitor and improve risk reporting governance frameworks and processes, including risk data accuracy and assurance.
- Develop and deliver training plans to support risk management programs.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen safety and sustainability initiatives.
Prerequisites for your success in this role- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, governance, and compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in sustainability, engineering, business, geoscience, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in applying and managing sustainability (HSE) management systems, including auditing processes is preferred
- Experience or working knowledge of data management concepts, methodologies and tools,
- Experience in project management including the ability to coordinate and facilitate teams and processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Your work environment- The preferred location for this position is the Corporate headquarters in Denver, CO, but qualified candidates in proximity to our operations or regional offices in North America are also encouraged to apply.
- If hired in Canada the applicable base salary range is CAD $118,320 to $155,295
- Role requires travel domestically and internationally as required.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $110,160 to 144,585. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
