Summary of Role:
The Hershey Company is seeking a talented Sustainability Reporting & Planning professional to join the growing Sustainability Team at the Hershey Company. Reporting to Head of Global Sustainability & ESG and working in close coordinating with the ESG Controller, the
Manager, Sustainability Reporting & Planning will help define the enterprise ESG Reporting strategy through ownership of Hershey's voluntary ESG reporting and disclosure processes.
This role will ensure that our voluntary ESG disclosures are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with industry standards while leveraging the insights to inform current and future strategy. The role will also support business integration through scorecarding, strategic planning, and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in sustainability reporting, data analysis, stakeholder engagement and possess strong business partnering skills to drive impact.
Role Responsibilities:
ESG Reporting
- Support the ESG Controller and Head of Sustainability in defining Hershey's voluntary reporting strategy (e.g., voluntary ESG Report, rater ranker response and customer inquiry response strategy), benchmarking best-in-class ESG voluntary reporting practices and staying informed of trends across the evolving ESG Reporting industry.
- Provide day-to-day management of the Company's voluntary annual ESG Report with oversight by the ESG Controller, working with cross-functional partners and external agencies to collect data, draft the report, solicit internal feedback and reviews, and project manage the report from inception to completion.
- Serve as the Administrator and point of contact for Hershey's ESG Report in Workiva.
- Prepare additional applicable reports for rater rankers or customer inquiries as aligned with the company's voluntary reporting strategy (e.g. GRI, SASB, CDP etc.)
- Help manage Hershey's external relationships with key ESG rating agencies including reviewing and providing up to date data and disclosures (e.g., MSCI, Sustainalytics, etc.)
- Support the ESG Communications Lead to collect and curate ESG content recommendations for the enterprise Sustainability website page and associated external communication channels to elevate ESG headlines using various media channels (e.g., blog posts, press releases, website content, social media, etc).
Planning & Strategy
- Review results from materiality assessments, peer trends, and benchmarking to inform current and future sustainability strategy
- Regularly review and support progress tracking of sustainability goals and programs using relevant metrics
- Support development of scorecards and planning documents for internal reporting and performance management in order to drive business ownership and execution over key parts of the sustainability agenda
- Support development of reports that communicate company performance to investors, customers, employees, and key leaders within Hershey
Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Experience with and knowledge of various ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, UNGPRF, etc), and/or investor-preferred evaluations (e.g., Sustainalytics, MSCI, CDP, etc.)
- Strong project management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to engage and influence stakeholders without direct authority as a collaborative business partner
- Influential communication and presentation skills, with ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences at varying levels of the organization
- Eagerness to learn and innovate processes to drive efficiencies in a rapidly evolving ESG landscape
- High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with Workiva (ESG or SEC Reporting) a plus

Requirements:
- Education -
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (Environmental Science, Sustainability, Public Policy, Communications, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field).
- Masters Degree or CPA preferred.
- Experience -
- 5 years of experience in Sustainability, ESG Reporting, SEC Reporting, or related field.
