Reports To:Plant Manager with a dotted line to the division EHS Director
Pay Range:$110,000 - $135,000/yearlyJob Location:Vishay Applied Thin Film Products is in Fremont, CA.
Essential Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and continuously refine our environmental, health and safety programs, policies and procedures that ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and handles agency contact (at the direction of the EHS Director).
- Develop and implement training programs to maintain compliance and to increase the overall level of EH&S awareness of all employees.
- Provide guidance to employees in the implementation and improvement of site EH&S programs.
- Review capital projects, and other site changes from an EH&S perspective.
- Conduct incident investigations with results focusing on root causes and corrective actions.
- Manage the storage, recycle, reuse & disposal of residual, universal and hazardous wastes.
- Work closely with the plant personnel to ensure that all EH&S procedures and reporting requirements remain in compliance.
- Develops and manages training programs such as compliance training, lab/plant inspection, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety.
- Ensure all training documentation and other record keeping is up-to-date.
- Maintain a current working knowledge of EH&S regulations & understand how they impact our business.
- Manage chemical inventories, MSDSs, and solid waste for facility. Maintain records related to these activities.
- Conduct routine internal EHS audits.
- Participate on ATP's Safety Committee.
- May be required to perform other duties.
Job Experience/Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Health and Safety or related technical discipline.
- 2+ years of EHS experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of CALOSHA, CERS, ISO14001 & 45001 and local California regulations preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Teams and generating reports off of computer systems
- Must be approachable and effective with ability to influence change across all levels of the organization in an effective manner.
- Superior organizational skills and high attention to detail with good follow-up
- Strong leadership skills, works well with co-workers and staff, and is a positive influence with all team members
- Strong writing, documentation, and presentation and speaking skills.
- Strong people skills and team orientation, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.

TravelLicensing/Certification/Registration/Training- Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA) Certification, a plus
- ISO 14001 and 45001 Lead Auditor Training a plus
Work EnvironmentWork is performed primarily in an office/lab environment; adheres to required safety and dress standards to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, talk, and listen. May be required to sit, stand, walk for periods of time; bend, stoop, and twist using full range of motion; perform various repetitive fine grasping motions; uses a variety of small hand tools to perform various operations when required; lift 25 to 50 pounds, operate a computer and enter information using a keyboard, operate a telephone, and other office equipment for an extended period of time. As some visual inspection duties will also be required, specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Some physical strength and stamina are required for regular cleaning duties. May be exposed to hot/cold conditions, high-volume noise, exposure to stored energy hazards (electricity, compressed gases, etc.), and/or hazardous materials such as chemicals (e.g. alcohol, acetone, acids, solvents and photo resist) or particulate matter.
