Internship Job Description: We are looking for agoal-oriented and enthusiastic student to join our team. As a Water Resources Engineering (WRE) Intern you will be responsible for assisting the department with the review of plans and specifications, as well as assisting with the development of plans and specifications for Capital Improvement Projects.
Requirements:- Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Good knowledge of safety rules/regulations/procedures
- Good Knowledge of methods, practices, and materials used in trades
- Knowledge of survey work
- Working knowledge of engineering and drafting
- Ability to read/interpret engineering plans, drawings, sketches, etc.
- Ability to estimate the cost of materials
- Excellent communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Problem solving skills
Project Outline: The WRE intern will assist with the review of plans for Site Developments within Fayetteville PWC's service area. The intern will be responsible for ensuring that plans are designed in accordance with PWC's design standards and specifications.
The WRE intern will assist with the development of plans, specifications, and bid documents for Capital Improvement Projects.
Eligibility Requirements: - Applicants must be currently enrolled as full-time college students
- Applicants are required to submit a transcript indicating his/her field of study
- Applicants must have three (3) years of driving experience (if required to drive PWC vehicles)
- An applicant is eligible to be hired for a job related to his/her field of study (i.e., the student should not be hired as a clerical person for the summer unless that is his/her field of study)
Pay Scale: - 1st Year of College completed: $15.00
- 2nd Year of College completed: $16.00
- 3rd Year of College completed: $17.00
