Position Description

Advertised Job Summary
  • Actively contributes to maintaining a safe, productive, and cost-effective planned and corrective maintenance program for facility building automated HVAC control systems.
  • Learns to receive work orders, communicate with supervisors, HVAC mechanics, and customers.
  • Gains hands-on experience in inspecting and verifying potential causes of issues.
  • Participates in reactive and preventative maintenance on devices and equipment, including pneumatic, electric, and direct digital controls.
  • Assists in operating and maintaining the campus Direct Digital Control (DDC) Central Energy Management System (EMS) under guidance.
  • Learns to monitor computer systems, conduct diagnostics, and respond to alarms.
  • Participates in investigating and addressing field control equipment issues, communicating with supervisors and vendors.
  • Gains hands-on experience in interpreting control drawings and applying continuous improvement principles for program development.
  • Supports the coordination of the Johnson Controls Metasys Energy Management System and HVAC systems.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, analysis, distribution, and filing of various data reports.
  • Learns to use data to assess equipment functioning and investigate problem areas.
  • Communicates effectively with campus customers, supervisors, Work Management Center, Area Maintenance personnel, and contractors.
  • Assists in performing administrative tasks, including maintaining daily time sheets and work orders
  • Attends meetings and training events related to customer service, safety, and continuous improvement to enhance professional development during the internship.
  • Observes and learns safety requirements and professionalism in conduct and appearance.
  • Supports the resolution of customer comfort issues, complaints, and service calls.
Qualifications
High School Diploma and currently enrolled in an HVAC training program or equivalency.
