Senior Landscape ArchitectYour work environment at EXPIn this role, you will be a part of the Land Development team within the Infrastructure and Transportation group, based in the Jacksonville, Florida office. You will have the opportunity to work within a team that is continuing to grow with the best and brightest, team members who aspire to expand and develop our Landscape Architecture practice throughout the State of Florida.
In this position, you will be part of an integrated team. You will lead and assist with the design, planning and execution of a variety of landscape architecture, land development, municipal, and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will possess effective written and digital communication skills and a strategic and design-oriented perspective. You will be expected to take a key role in design and multiple assignments, mentor junior staff and interact with existing and prospective clients and professionals across many disciplines.
What a day at EXP has in store for you - Commence work on projects at the concept design phase, develop creative designs that work well with the clients vision
- The role includes working through all development phases; conceptual through approvals, inspection and close out
- Participate in development of construction specifications, contract administration and site review for execution of the built work
- Serve as a senior technical landscape designer, mentor and train junior technical staff
- Develop site design concepts and analyze site layouts in digital and hand-illustrated formats
- Deliver creative solutions and design material that communicate design intent to clients and staff
- Conduct tree inventory and investigations. Develop tree protection plans that include drawings and reports
- Provide project development through relationships, vision, and leveraging in-house expertise
- Act as project manager from proposal scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and concept design through construction phases of project management. This includes assisting with fee proposals, qualification packages and terms of reference for potential projects
- Interface directly with internal /external clients and able to provide clear, well-articulated and solution-based recommendations
- Seek potential opportunities through business development activities
What your experience looks like - Must hold an active ASLA License
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience within Landscape Architecture
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or similar (as approved by the Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board)
- Exceptional design and technical knowledge
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects (including Public Agencies, and Private Sector clients) with aggressive delivery schedules
- Demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality design work and design presentations using hand graphics and relevant computer software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Office Suite)
- Demonstrated experience and design excellence in several core areas of the practice including open space, parks and plazas, streetscapes, trails, greenways and transportation, naturalized and resilient landscapes
- ISA Certified Arborist would be considered an asset
- Land F/X experience would be considered an asset
- Business Development experience preferred but not required
