We are searching for a Project Engineer for our Tampa office who seeks to advance their career through training, mentoring, and experience in the field and office. As a Project Engineer, you will oversee the preparation of engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications with the ability to serve as the Engineer of Record on projects for public and private clients.
Responsibilities include engineering design, client communications, project management, and staff coordination. Project responsibility will have a primary focus on solid waste management, including landfill gas, landfills and landfill infrastructure, composting, and other projects, which may require design, engineering, permitting, construction, and operations support.
How you can make an impactYou will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support civil and environmental project work including:
- Landfill, landfill gas collection and control system, industrial wastewater, and stormwater permitting and design, including construction plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Prepare solid waste facility and environmental control system infrastructure permit applications and/or regulatory agency submittals and develop responses with supporting documentation.
- Complete quality control reviews on all work products (reports, design plans, design calculations, data, etc.) prior to submission.
- Field work performed by high/driving in varied terrain and weather will be required, including but not limited to, surveys/data gathering, CQA liner installations, inspections, etc.
- Business development inclusive of proposal preparation, meeting with clients, and attending industry related conferences / trade shows.
- Coordinate with GIS and CAD drafters for design plans/figures or use AutoCAD or ArcGIS for basic design plans/figures.
- Prepare permit applications and regulatory agency submittals and responses with supporting documentation and engineering analysis as requested.
- Prepare calculations in support of design documents and reports as requested.
- Work both independently and on design teams to implement engineering solutions, plan, and coordinate work, and represent SCS at meetings and conferences.
Qualifications- Florida P.E. (preferably civil or environmental) registration required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related engineering degree is required.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience specific to the solid waste industry such as landfill gas management, air compliance, landfill design and permitting, landfill operations support, or compost facility operations is required.
- Competency with MS Office and other computer software normally used in environmental consulting is required.
- Experience using AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D design software is preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
Pay RangeUSD $75,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
