Senior Environmental Manager to join its collaborative team in our
Philadelphia, PA office. We are looking for a dynamic leader to serve a key function in developing business, managing environmental projects, supervising environmental professionals, preparing technical proposals and reports, and supervising field. This Langan team supports large industrial clients, redevelopers, and legal teams in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and throughout the United States. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of top-notch professionals in a variety of geographic areas and regulatory programs and to collaborate and learn from our multi-disciplinary team of site civil, geotechnical, survey, and landscape architect professionals. Job Responsibilities: - Holds and maintains an LSRP License. Manages environmental projects. Accurately interprets investigative findings within applicable regulatory context, conceptualizes remedial actions, prepares technically accurate, regulatory-compliant and defensible reports timely and on budget;
- Develops new business through industry and network connections;
- Develops repeat business from existing clients through delivering excellent client services;
- Supervises and is responsible for performance management aspects of staff, including conducting performance review meetings, providing performance feedback and recommendations for improvement and mentoring for professional growth;
- Strong focus on investigation and remediation of PFAS and other contaminants of emerging concern;
- Strong focus on technical excellence and client service;
- Leads the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, and designs for projects;
- Implements sound professional judgement;
- Performs complex analyses for specific portions of broader engineering projects. Has technical knowledge necessary to perform complex analyses and lead multi-discipline projects;
- Performs and manages multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines;
- Monitors budgets, schedules, and project timelines. Minimizes write-offs by keeping projects on budget;
- Applies standard practices and techniques to unusual situations or to devise new approaches to problems. Recognizes inconsistent or inappropriate results and knows when to consult with others regarding problem resolution or taking appropriate action; and
- Performs other duties as requested.
Job Requirements: - Must hold a NJ Licensed Site Remediation Professional's license, in good standing. Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist a plus;
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related discipline, Master's degree a plus;
- Strong technical background and in-depth knowledge and understanding of NJDEP, PADEP, RCRA, MGP, PFAS, and superfund regulations;
- Ideally will possess 15+ years of remediation experience in due diligence, environmental assessments, investigations, and remediation. Remediation technology selection and evaluation, pilot testing, remedial system design, environmental permitting, and feasibility studies/evaluation;
- Proven ability to seek out new business opportunities and develop additional clients while maintaining project workload;
- Proven ability to manage and mentor staff;
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, staff, contractors, regulators and managers;
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgment and problem-solving capabilities;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as organization and multi-tasking skills;
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and related environmental software; AutoCAD and/or GIS a plus; and
- Position requires work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.
