JOB OVERVIEW We have an exciting opportunity for the role of Senior Manager of Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S). The incumbent is responsible for the creation and implementation of policies and practices to ensure the health and safety of the Company's associates, visitors, and contractors and to promote the accomplishment of the Company's objectives relating to the protection of the workplace and natural environments. The incumbent ensures that the Company complies with local, state, and federal laws and regulations applicable to the workplace, with particular focus on those administered by Cal OSHA, the EPA, and San Benito County agencies. The Senior Manager of EH&S leads the Company's safety and compliance efforts in multiple facilities and is responsible for hazardous waste management at those locations. The incumbent develops and implements training and inspection/audit policies and procedures. The ideal incumbent will have experience in manufacturing environments where chemicals are stored or used, will be able to work well under pressure, have experience conducting incident and accident investigations, and will have strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge and experience with workers' compensation claims and the workers' comp insurance ecosystem will be a strong plus. The position is on-site at the Company's headquarters, requires reliable transportation, and reports to the Company's General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer.

Requirements
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Leads the Company's efforts to accomplish its objectives relating to the protection of the workplace and natural environments and the promotion of the health and safety of people on all of the Company's premises.
- Ensures that the Company complies with local, state, and federal regulations, particularly those administered by Cal OSHA/OSHA, the EPA, and the County. Responsible for routine and for-cause inspection / audit readiness.
- Implements and oversees required OSHA safety programs (i.e., forklift, respirator, bloodborne pathogens, hazard communication, PPE, etc.) and updates them as appropriate.
- Evaluates the Company's existing EH&S programs and practices and continuously seeks to identify and implement improvements.
- Works to encourage engagement by the Company's associates in its EH&S programs and practices.
- Schedules and leads periodic EH&S meetings with representative groups of associates and provides regular Company-wide communication.
- Creates and carries out regular training for emergency preparedness, PPE compliance, safe chemical handling, and about other of the Company's EH&S policies.
- Ensures the maintenance of sufficient supplies required for emergency response.
- Responds to accidents and incidents involving any person on Company premises, arranges immediate care for associates as needed, and investigates all accidents and incidents. Uses root cause / corrective action methodologies to reduce accidents and incidents over time and provides periodic trending information to senior leadership.
- Advises on aspects of EH&S in the design, layout, construction, and use of new and existing buildings and equipment. Enlists and supervises contractors or consultants if greater expertise in specific areas such as industrial hygiene is required.
- Oversees the Company's Safety Data Sheet program for all raw materials and products.
- Ensures that records relating to EH&S are maintained in accordance with regulations and Company policies.
- Uses internal audits regularly to identify and mitigate risk. Creates and operates a proactive system to strengthen safety in all areas of the Company. Follows-up on corrective action recommendations from internal and external audits.
- Keeps written safety programs and SOPs up to date.
- Maintains a list of authorized operators of company vehicles.
- Maintains required records of employee exposure to hazardous materials.
- Liaises with the Company's insurance brokers and insurers regarding worker's compensation claims and claims otherwise relating to accidents or incidents involving the Company's associates.
- Contributes to Quality Management Review meetings with senior management.
EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, and/or a scientific field in combination with relevant experience
- Relevant safety certifications such as OSHA 30-hour Industrial
