We are hiring a Senior Scientist / Ecologist that performs well and enjoys a fast-paced environment with a growing company. Specifically, we are searching for a team member that can:

Duties and Responsibilities/Specific Tasks:- Often serves as lead scientist on complex projects, and provides high-level technical design as needed for all core service areas of the team.
- Serves as the project manager for large or complex projects.
- Participates in QA/QC reviews of team's deliverables.
- Provides quality service to existing and current clients.
- Communicates regularly with team members.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members, including field technicians and ecologists, to support their professional development and project delivery.
- Regularly meets with office leaders and business partners in workforce planning initiatives.
- Participates in marketing efforts for repeat clients and local opportunities for the team, which include client strategy, proposal process, interviewing, and selection efforts.
- Completes technical assessment and reporting for select projects as time and availability allows, with an emphasis on technical services within the Roaring Fork and Eagle River valleys.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to promote the company's ecological services expertise.

Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:- Bachelor of Science (Master of Science preferred)
- 15-30 years of similar work experience, with a minimum of 15 years in the consulting industry.
- Valid driver's license
Other Requirements:- Has a proven track record in meeting and exceeding client expectations through excellent project management and staffing.
- Has successful experience in marketing and developing business to build and maintain a strong workload for the team.
- Has excellent writing and presentation skills relevant to proposal development and technical deliverables.
- Maintains industry knowledge through participation in professional organizations.
Specific Technical Knowledge:- 10 to 15 years' experience in Wetland Science, including delineations and Section 404 permitting including Nationwide, Regional and Individual Permit Applications. Experience working with the US Army Corps of Engineers Colorado West Regulatory staff preferred.
- 10 to 15 years' experience in diverse NEPA assessment, with a focus on ESA compliance, biological resource impact assessments, and multi-agency coordination. Experience as lead author on EAs required, experience with EIS documents and processes preferred.
- Must be a qualified and certified Wetland Delineator with at least a bachelor's degree in biology, botany, ecology, earth sciences, soils, or related disciplines. Knowledge of Colorado plant species is a key factor in consideration of qualifications.
- Conduct Threatened and Endangered Species reviews, prepare Biological Assessments/Biological Evaluations to meet federal agency requirements, and coordinate consultation with the US Fish and Wildlife Service.
- Prepare written wetland mitigation site plans and assist in mitigation site design and development.
- Develop project scope for services and work hour estimates.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, regulatory specialists, to integrate ecological considerations into land development and infrastructure projects.
- Provide project management activities including the direct participation in and oversight of project teams responsible for environmental site assessment, wetland delineations, threatened & endangered species habitat assessment, field surveys, NEPA documentation, environmental report/permit development, constraint mapping, and public involvement support.
- Demonstrated experience completing local land use impact reviews, with a focus on central Colorado counties. Experience with wildlife impact assessments, wildfire hazard assessments, and water protection standard compliance is a key factor in consideration of qualifications.
