About the RoleYour work within the US GID team will directly impact on our strategic goals and contribute to our position as a global leader in battery technology. As a key member of AESC US LLC, you will play a crucial role in advancing our mission to lead in full-value-chain battery solutions for a sustainable future. Reporting to the energy management lead, you will:
- work with several stakeholders to challenge, understand, and summarize site-wide utility requirements,
- conduct energy data benchmarking for different products across AESC global manufacturing locations,
- analyze the utility design and operational data to recommend key infrastructure improvements, reduce capital and operational expenditure for existing, under construction, and future factories.
- Collaborate will several co-workers, and influence teams (without direct reporting) to create complex energy models to forecast the time-dependent utility need,
- Review PFDs and P&IDs of all infrastructure utilities to ensure metering devices are strategically located to conduct proper energy assessment.
- Perform feasibility studies on projects and new equipment technologies (including renewable energy implementation) to meet AESC sustainability and financial goals.
What You Will Do- Lead Strategic Initiatives: Spearhead and execute key strategic initiatives within the energy management team, contributing to the overall success of our mission to be a leader in full-value-chain battery solutions for a sustainable future.
- Drive Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the US GID, contributing to our goal of producing innovative and competitive products.
- Contribute to Global Impact: Play a crucial role in our global expansion by conducting energy data benchmarking, and meaningful reduction of the infrastructure energy need, ensuring our position as a global leader in battery technology.
- Interface with Stakeholders: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements, address concerns, and ensure seamless collaboration, fostering strong relationships that contribute to the success of our initiatives.
- Demonstrate Leadership Skills: Exhibit strong leadership qualities by providing guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture, and solving challenges with a forward-thinking mindset.
- Stay Informed on Industry Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and market dynamics, applying this knowledge to day-to-day activities and contributing to our competitive edge in the market.
What You Need- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Process or Chemical Engineering, Master or Ph.D. preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success in manufacturing facilities (such as automotive and battery) and/or large scale multi-disciplinary technical projects showcasing a track record of achieving key objectives and driving impactful results.
- Experienced in HVAC, Dehumidification, and exhaust systems design, optimization, and energy analysis.
- Experienced in chilled water systems design and analysis including cooling water loops and cooling towers.
- Experienced in design of utility systems such as compressed air, and nitrogen.
- Experienced in energy modeling, building simulation and software such as EneryPlus and Carrier HAP, and Trane Trace. Candidate to be eager to learn and adapt any other software and/or simulation tools in line with company and energy management team goals.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and contribute to the development and execution of key initiatives, demonstrating an innovative mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Global Perspective: Experience or willingness to work in a global context, with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with operating in diverse international markets.
- Adaptability: Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to meet changing business needs and priorities.
- Leadership Skills: Previous experience or potential for leadership roles, showcasing the ability to inspire and lead teams towards common goals, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.
Nice to Have- Scientific programming and database skills is highly desirable (Python, Matlab, SQL)
- Previous experience of conducting techno-economic assessment of renewable energy technologies of Solar, Wind, and geothermal is a great asset.
- Working knowledge of Data visualization tools such as Tableau is as asset
- Advanced Certifications: Possession of advanced certifications in building simulation and energy modeling software is added value. The candidate, while not mandatory, would be a strong asset, showcasing a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Multilingual Skills: Proficiency in additional languages beyond English is advantageous, as it aligns with our global operations and enhances communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Cross-Cultural Experience: Previous experience working in cross-cultural environments, or a demonstrated understanding of cultural nuances would be beneficial, given our global presence and diverse team.
- Industry Involvement: Active involvement in industry associations, conferences, or relevant forums, demonstrating a keen interest in staying at the forefront of industry trends and networking with peers.
- Advanced Degree: While not a prerequisite, candidates with advanced degrees (Master's, PhD) in relevant field may be considered favorably, as it reflects a commitment to specialized knowledge.
- Start-up Experience: Experience or familiarity with the dynamics of start-up environments, showcasing an ability to thrive in agile and fast-paced settings.
TravelOccasional domestic and international travel required (up to 20% with periods up to two weeks).
