What you will be doing:While working as a technical lead or project manager with a team of engineers and/or designers, the Senior Engineer is responsible for the design and development of complex projects in support of water and wastewater distribution, collection, and treatment systems
Job Responsibilities: - Apply established Engineering principles to plan, design, and develop systems or processes with minimal supervision.
- Maintain strong technical knowledge/expertise of water and wastewater design techniques and procedures.
- Complete studies and system analyses such as Needs Assessments, Available Facilities' Analyses, Capacity Evaluations/Modeling, Environmental Impact Assessments, etc.
- Develop the process design of large scale systems to support water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and distribution and collection systems.
- Conduct project related site surveys to confirm existing conditions and gather project data.
- Develop front end/contract specifications and technical equipment and performance specifications.
- Develop Construction Cost Estimates and Sequences of Construction.
- Complete shop drawing reviews.
- Develop the design of complex projects from the Pre-Schematic Phase through the development of Construction Documents.
- Complete project bid phase and construction tasks such as responding to contractor RFI's, preparing addenda, construction site inspections, and review of contractor change orders.
- Gather needed data and complete permit applications for client compliance of all local, state, and federal environmental regulations and construction requirements.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Interns, EIT's, and other appropriate employees.
- Support the Project Manager
- If assigned as Project Manager (PM), perform PM responsibilities per company procedures including, but not limited to, the following:
- Client Liaison which may or may not include attendance at regular authority/municipality meets in support of the client and seeking out future opportunities for BH while meeting the clients needs.
- Coordination and direction of multi-discipline project team
- Project encoding / Project Work Plan / Project closeout
- Prompt responses to monthly variance and project loss reports
- Scheduling of client review meetings with project team
- Perform QA/QC procedures and enforce quality control procedures throughout project development.
Experience, Technical Skills, and Attributes: - Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
- 10+ years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar major
- Master`s Degree in Environmental field, Management or MBA preferred
- Possess advanced leadership skills as either a technical leader and/or project manager of complex projects
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, Civil 3D software
