Job SummaryThis position is responsible for planning and performing engineering duties as assigned, working independently. Reviewing, modifying and approving project specifications of the most complex nature to ensure their conformance to applicable codes and standards and generally accepted industry practices.
Job DescriptionKey Accountabilities- Provide proactive engineering involvement in the Building and Structures system to improve overall plant reliability.
- Ensure that system performance is monitored and analyzed and that issues are proactively identified and resolved.
- Requires regular walkdowns of the system to monitor material conditions, strikes the appropriate balance between daily support activities and long-term requirements.
- Develop long-range improvement plans for key plant assets requiring attention such as obsolete equipment, vulnerabilities from OE, upgrades that would result in operational or financial benefits, and determining and reporting Maintenance Rule availability.
- Provide innovative engineering solutions for difficult problems.
- Assess and resolve potential conditions adverse to quality.
- Must have extensive knowledge in Civil/Structural area of expertise.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements- Bachelor's of Science Engineering degree or related Science degree from a college or university with an accredited engineering program.
- Post Graduate Degree (Technical Expert), desired.
- Registered Professional Engineer.
- At least 10 years of experience.
- Technical understanding of nuclear plant processes/programs not well understood by others.

Key Metrics- Qualified to prepare complex design changes.
- Prepare engineering reports.
- Qualified to prepare complex 10CFR50.59 evaluations.
- Perform tasks in accordance with established expectations for nuclear safety and personnel safety.
- May be responsible for developing other employees in area of expertise.
- Serves a lead role on projects, teams, processes, or programs.
- One of few who possess abilities not easily gained and of significant depth in specific area(s) of expertise.
