This is a hybrid position that works from a home-based office and travels to locations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, southwest Michigan, and Nebraska. Preferred residence is IN, IL, IA, or Southwest MI. The salary for this role is up to $110,000 per year.

The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing environmental, health, and safety programs to promote a safe work environment for our employees, clients, and visitors. In collaboration with human resources, clinical, clinical operations, finance, and other internal departments, this position will facilitate the development of a safety strategy and goals that support the Lighthouse Annual Operating Plan and Goals. Provide expertise, education, and coaching to leaders to build a culture of safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with department managers and employees to promote a culture of safety and accountability throughout the organization. Coach leaders on identification of safety issues and how to proactively address on a local level.
- Provide guidance to employees on EHS policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure understanding and compliance. Collaborate with Center Leadership and Training Department to develop training and other resources.
- Ensure safety programs and processes support the delivery of effective and efficient clinical practice.
- Monitor and track EHS metrics and performance indicators to identify trends and areas for improvement. This includes monitoring workers compensation claims and conducting root cause analysis on incidents with a focus on reducing/eliminating risks.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes, and work with Center Leadership to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Serve as key contact for regulatory agencies (OSHA), liability insurers, and worker's compensation carriers and coordinate inspections, permits, and reporting requirements.
- Develop and support return-to-work processes to ensure employees are reengaged quickly and safely into the centers.
- Keep abreast of emerging EHS issues, best practices in Health Care, trends, and regulations and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Support emergency preparedness and response plans to address potential crises or disasters.
- Act as a liaison between management, employees, and external stakeholders on EHS matters, fostering open communication and collaboration.
- Serve as Chair of the Safety Committee and collaborate with the Behavior Treatment Committee as is appropriate for specific learner related incidents or trends.
Requirements
What you bring:- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management. Experience in a healthcare, clinic, or behavioral health setting a plus.
- Prior experience working in multi-site and multi-state organizations.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations and standards.
- Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels in the organization.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective EHS programs and initiatives.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license, valid auto insurance, reliable transportation
- Residence within IN, IL, IA, or Southwest MI, and available for frequent travel to locations throughout Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, and Nebraska.
