Department The Department of Chemical & Biomedical Engineering (CBE) at the Florida A&M University (FAMU)-Florida State University (FSU) College of Engineering invites applications from highly qualified individuals for a tenure track faculty position in biomedical engineering, in the city of Tallahassee, Florida.
Responsibilities Successful candidates are expected to develop research programs that are internationally recognized with significant and sustained funding, incorporate interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers across campus, and demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in education. Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and supervising undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral researchers are expected.
Qualifications Candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, or a related discipline, and demonstrate documented potential for outstanding research. Priority will be given to candidates who can integrate with the existing research programs and interact with current faculty members in the department. Examples of priority areas include cell-tissue-materials interactions, biomaterials, the full range of issues from the materials synthesis to the cellular aspects, biomanufacturing, and medical applications. This position can potentially interact with FSU Health Initiative through clinical applications and with other researchers with expertise in polymers and magnetic resonance imaging.
