OverviewThe Enterprise Environmental Engineer is responsible for overseeing environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across all operations of a manufacturing company specializing in distribution transformers. This role requires a strategic approach to integrate environmental management with business operations, ensuring compliance with environmental laws and promoting sustainable practices. This role is strategically positioned within our distribution transformer manufacturing company to define and implement enterprise-level strategies, ensuring alignment and standardization across all plant operations, thereby guiding our teams towards excellence in manufacturing processes and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement enterprise-wide environmental management systems and strategies.
- Monitor environmental performance and compliance across all facilities, identifying areas for improvement.
- Lead sustainability projects, such as waste reduction, energy efficiency, and resource conservation initiatives.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders on environmental compliance and reporting requirements.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for new projects and expansions.
- Provide expert advice and support to facility managers on environmental issues and best practices.
- Develop and deliver environmental training programs to employees.
- Represent the company in industry associations and environmental forums.
- Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Professional environmental certification (e.g., PE, CEM) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental engineering or management within a manufacturing context, with a focus on compliance and sustainability.
- Deep understanding of environmental regulations and reporting requirements.
- Experience in implementing environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
