Wiley Drilling, a sister company to Water & Environmental Technologies, is seeking a highly motivated and versatile environmental specialist, geologist, soil scientist, or similar technical professional to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a geologist, environmental engineer/scientist, or civil/geotechnical engineer with a passion for hands-on fieldwork, particularly drilling, and the ability to transition into consulting work when needed. Required Education, Experience, and Abilities: Minimum BS degree in environmental science/engineering, civil/geotechnical engineering, or a related field. 0-4 years of experience in environmental consulting or civil/geotechnical fieldwork. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must pass a pre-employment physical. Must be able to obtain a Class B CDL with Airbrake Endorsement within the first 6 months of employment. Must be willing to learn to operate drilling equipment using direct push and rotary tooling. Job Description: Perform staff-level scientist/engineer duties including soil and groundwater sampling, well design and construction, and lithology descriptions using USGS or USDA methodology. Operate drilling equipment for environmental and geotechnical investigations. 90% outdoor work, often in various weather conditions. 50% travel out of town for projects. Preferred Experience, Skills, and Certifications (Not Required, but a Plus): OSHA HAZWOPER Certification. CPR/First Aid Training. Class B CDL. Experience operating heavy machinery. Welding skills.
